Lard

Does it occur to anyone else that the Joni Ernst story about bread bags on her shoes has to be complete bullshit?

She’d wear holes in them on the way the to goddamn bus fer crying out loud.

I read on the internet that you’re supposed to wear them over your socks.

Sometimes I think of Barack Obama as a Dungeons and Dragons character.  You know, he’s only got so many spells and potions and magical weapons.  So many charisma points.  So many wisdom points.  His political capital is finite.  We don’t know how much he actually has.  Maybe he’s actually being resourceful.

I think like this sometimes.

It was a great speech.  I hear.  I didn’t watch it.  Well, I watched the post game.

I watched the fuck out of Joni Ernst though.  Did ya catch the gummies in the corners of her rictus?

She’s awesome.

She could be better than Bachmann.

She’s a senator.

It’s a good trade.

Thing is, this woman is just not bright.  Totally Stepford.  And she’s a fucking hypocrite.  Her stump story is bullshit.  Her family received all kinds of government farm subsidies and if she actually was poor it was under Reagan.  To republican men, she’s a token.  On the other hand, she may end up the heat and light that Palin never had a shot at.  Palin was too stupid and they were desperate for a woman.  At least she didn’t let loose with that ridiculous goose laugh.

The poor woman is going to be briefed and debriefed relentlessly on what to say when there’s cameras and microphones.

I can’t wait for her to go rogue.

When is the GOP gonna figure this out and at least foist a woman with intelligence?

They do it on purpose.  The set the bar really low, they anoint a token dingbat and out of one side of their mouths they are pro women and out of the other side they tell the shriveled up white dudes that everybody knows the bitches can’t be trusted.  Republican men view all women besides their mothers as whores.  I’m being fair here by judging them on their policies.

I think like this sometimes.

Or, the republicans really do suffer from an ideological myopia so profound and disgusting.

Maybe it doesn’t matter.

I can barely tell the difference between democrats and republicans anymore.

Maybe it doesn’t matter.

What I can tell you is that republicans are just so ridiculously obvious.  Shameless.  They take the gullible and the ignorant for granted.  They count on them.

I’ll also point that about half of us buy into it and the other half buys into that.

Two men say they are Jesus, one of them must be lying.

What if there is no Jesus?

Drinks for my friends.

  • I think I love you! Perfect article.

I laughed so hard throughout her entire speech that I actually peed a bit! No kidding! This was the best “worst speech” ever! And I do believe she’s going to give Michelle Bachmann a run for her place in history as the most stupid female member of Congress ever.

Right on as always, Michael. (My brother’s name is Michael, just btw. He works on a legal marijuana grow farm in Colorado. …just an aside.)

Joni Ernst scares me. She has a Masters Degree and her BA is in Psychology. She was Valedictorian in High School. She has actually chosen stupidity. …and that scares me, maybe more than Palin. Palin is crystal clear and easy to understand. She wants attention and applause. I don’t get Ernst. She sounds stupid but she cannot be that stupid.

…but she is a liar and to that, I say this:

Totally Stepford! Love that comment. And to answer your question, there are no intelligent rethuglican women, because all the women with any brains have turned Democrat, when they recognize the bullshit the rethugs want them to spew forth. Those who aren’t smart enough continue to drink the kool aid and stay rethugs, because that’s what they’re told to do! Nice piece as always! Skal my friend!

I wore bread bags over my socks and in my boots so my feet would stay dry. I carried my one pair of good shoes in another bag with my books . I agree with Lee. To get ahead she chooses stupid

Love this. Love the description of Prez Obama. No one ever really knows how much political capital he has. He keeps it up his sleeve. I, too, do not watch presidential speeches but hear parts and watch the after play. I am just too cynical to fall for much if any of it, and the State of the Union concept is so far from the intention of the Constitution that I already know by heart the “the state of our union is strong” part. Joni Ernst is entirely unimpressive to me. I had no idea that she has a BA and a Masters. That is scary. I think, however, that Bachmann was a really professional politician, however. She could really work a room like no other. Well, like few others. Joni is a great campaigner, but she absolutely cannot do interviews, and she’s got four loooong years of avoiding them. Unlike Bachmann, however, she’s a Senator, which is just unbelievable. After 2016, she’s going to be in the minority, and she won’t be able to play with the House klown kar like the other kids. Well, now she’s got Senator Menedez to play with. We’ll see how they get along.

I hate to break it to you folks that there are some somewhat smart republican women. I will name them on one hand..Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, Susanna Martinez of New Mexico, Susan Collins of Maine and my Senator Kelly Ayotte of New Hampshire. All have sold their souls to the devil as far as I am concerned. They lie through their teeth. They are corporate whores. I do not like the word whore as I feel it is a double standard in regard to the promiscuity of men but still the name fits for these GOP women. Susanna Martinez and Kelly Ayotte will be on the short list for VP on the GOP ticket. I hope the majority of voters are not fooled. They were in 2014 by fears and racism by the propaganda of the RW. I am hopeful that Ayotte gets challenged in my state by our current Dem Governor or our former Dem governor. We need a senator that works for the people not just corporations. Hey don’t we all need that representation?
